Sidewalk Sales Headline Month of Giving Campaign in Long Grove July 19-21

July is called the Month of Giving in Long Grove, where local merchants across town partner with local charities to support good causes. The highlight of the month is the annual Sidewalk Sales event, organized by the Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association, where businesses in the historic district come together for a long weekend dedicated to local retail and giving back.

"There's no place better to stroll and shop in the Chicago suburbs than historic downtown Long Grove," said Kendra Perri, a member of the Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association. "The Sidewalk Sales are a 'must-do' summer shopping event where people get deals and support good causes while doing so. It's a win-win."

During the Sidewalk Sales, several downtown participating merchants roll their merchandise out onto the sidewalks and feature discounts and specials on offerings in a festive, open air marketplace setting. Portions of the weekend proceeds and pop-up lemonade stands will be donated to the business's local charity of choice. Additional attractions for the whole family during the weekend include: sidewalk street chalk designs by local artists, surprise pop-up vendors, and the annual Cars & Cigars fundraiser outside Neumann's Cigars & More store in conjunction with the Kildeer Police Department, from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 21.

Sidewalk Sales hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Friday through Sunday, July 19-21. Admission is free.
