Batavia library offers 'Moonflight Adventures'

As part of its Summer Reading Club, the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave., will host "Moonflight Adventures" at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11.

Veteran spaceflight docent Bill Andrews shows age 5 or older what it's really like when astronauts go into space.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, see how astronauts landed on the Moon for the first time, watch a live demonstration of how rockets work, and view an actual launch while experiencing the roar of a rocket engine.

Discover what it's like to live and work in total weightlessness, including how the astronauts eat, sleep, and even go to the bathroom in zero gravity.

Show your Batavia Library card or summer reading logbook to receive a ticket.

No registration required. Door to the Founders Room open at 6:45 p.m. Visit bataviapubliclibrary.org.
