Heatherstone Park playground in Naperville is set to reopen

The Naperville Park District invites the community to celebrate the reopening of the playground at Heatherstone Park, 3536 Fairmont Ave., at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 25.

The playground at Heatherstone Park is the first of several playground renovation projects to be completed in 2019.

Neighbors are encouraged to bring their families to participate in a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony, enjoy refreshments and giveaways, and explore the new play equipment.

The playground design was based on input from neighbors and includes state-of-the-art play equipment that is accessible to children of all abilities. The playground has separate play structures for 2- to 5-year-olds and 5- to 12-year-olds, swings, a spring toy and a spinner that accommodates kids of all abilities.

A special feature of this playground is a 65-foot long zip line with the option of either sitting or standing.

In the event of inclement weather, the playground celebration will be rescheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 26.

Residents can check the weather cancellations tab for the latest updates at www.napervilleparks.org/cancellations.
