Village Theatre Guild presents 'Luna Gale'
The issue of who should decide the safest environment in which to raise a baby will be at the forefront when Glen Ellyn's Village Theatre Guild continues its production of "Luna Gale" with performances through June 15.
Local playwright Rebecca Gilman's work focuses on environmental safety, parental responsibility and ability, religious influences, professional experience, compassion and just plain love.
"Rebecca Gilman writes with a passion that instills empathy in the audience as they watch the characters of 'Luna Gale' cope with their conflicts and their decisions they have to make in their lives," Director Lynn Walsh says.
The show features actors from Chicago, West Chicago, Roselle, Glen Ellyn, Addison, and a Lockport mother and daughter duo.
The show will be performed at 8 p.m. June 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15 and 3 p.m. June 2, 8, 9 and 15 at Village Theatre Guild, near the northwest corner of Butterfield Road and Park Boulevard in Glen Ellyn.
The play contains adult themes and strong language and may not be appropriate for younger or more sensitive viewers.
Tickets are $19.99 and can be ordered online at www.villagetheatreguild.org. Free parking is available at Village Theatre Guild.
The cast features Kate Roberts as Karlie; Brian McLeod as Peter; Jackie Meara as Caroline; Debbie Roberts as Cindy; Guy Sullivan as Cliff; Tony Lage as Pastor Jay; and Allegra Sweeney as Lourdes.
