Des Plaines Art Guild to hold 'Paint 'n' Sip' event May 24

The Des Plaines Art Guild in cooperation with the Des Plaines Park District will hold its third "Paint 'n' Sip" party from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 24 at the Lake Park Pavilion, 1015 Howard Ave., Des Plaines.

"Now that we have light until later, the scene from the pavilion is stunning, since it sits right on the lake - a beautiful place to hold a fun party," guild leader Elaine Tejcek said.

The second party drew 11 participants. The fee is $30, and registration is limited. The guild provides the supplies including an 11-by-14-inch canvas, table easel, acrylic paint, paint brushes, aprons, containers for water, and other supplies. A member of the Art Guild takes the lead and guides the participants through their painting experience. All participants have to do is to sit down, listen to the leader and paint.

Guild members assist those having difficulty starting their paintings, all while participants enjoy sipping on their favorite beverage. The party allows participants to BYOB and bring their own snacks.

Call Rhonda Popko at (847) 293-8431 for information on how to register or check the Des Plaines Park District website. The registration fee includes all art supplies.
