Registration for Swedish Days dodgeball, basketball tournaments now open

The Geneva Park District invites you to get a team together and register for its annual Swedish Days Dodgeball Tournament and 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.

• Get ready to dip, dodge, and dive at the Geneva Park District's Dodgeball Tournament for third- to eighth-graders.

The tournament will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, June 21, at Wheeler Park, off Route 31 on Geneva's north side.

Teams of 6 to 8 players are guaranteed at least two games officiated by All Star Sports Instruction.

All participants will receive a T-shirt, and prizes will be awarded to the winning team in each grade division: third and fourth, fifth and sixth, and seventh and eighth.

The cost to participate in the tournament is $23 per person.

Participants must register individually, and one team member must email allstarsports03@live.com with the name of the team captain and a list of team players.

Deadline for registration is Friday, June 14.

Participants must register based on their grade level for the 2018-19 academic school year.

• Have you got game? The area's hottest 3-on-3 basketball competition will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 22, on Third Street in downtown Geneva.

Each team in the tournament is guaranteed at least two games and each participant will receive a dry-fit shirt.

Team rosters are limited to five players, players cannot play on more than one team, and teams will be placed in category of their oldest player.

Both boys and girls ages 10 and older are welcome. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, June 19.
