Discounted rain barrels available to Aurora residents

The City of Aurora and the Conservation Foundation are collaborating again this year to provide discounted rain barrels to Aurora residents through Upcycle Products.

An effective way to conserve water during the summer and fall months, rain barrels collect fresh water from rooftop gutter systems for use on lawns and gardens. In addition, rain barrels help to reduce runoff pollutants, improve hydration to plants with natural water and could help to lower water bills with consistent usage.

The 55-gallon rain barrels are available in five colors - black, blue, gray, green and terra cotta - for the discounted price of $60 plus tax.

To place an order, visit Upcycle Products at www.upcycle-products.com/aurorail.html.

Once ordered, rain barrels can be picked at the Downtown Aurora Farmer's Market from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 8, in Parking Lot B across from City Hall, 44 E. Downer Place.

For an additional $5 fee, rain barrels can be delivered directly to the purchaser's home in 5-7 business days.

Rain barrel accessories, composters and plant hangers are also available for discounted prices.

A portion of all sales will be donated to the Conservation Foundation.
