Elgin Township, Gail Borden to offer technology classes

This year, Elgin Township and Gail Borden Public Library will begin offering technology group discussions.

These seminars are aimed at assisting township and library district residents in understanding and implementing technology into their personal life.

Led by township residents Verner Tepe, Andy Lego, Phillip Schneider and Ed Mungai, the seminars are focused at understanding how to use technology to your advantage.

• How to Use and Organize Apps on the iPhone and iPad: Learn how to download, use and organize apps on your iPhone and iPad from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, in the Hoffer Room at the South Elgin library branch, 127 S. McLean Blvd.

• How to Get the Most Out of Windows 10: Learn tips and tricks that will help make your computing experience easier and more effective from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Elgin Township office, 729 S. McLean Blvd. Elgin. For details, contact Phillip Schneider at (847) 608-5226.

• How to Buy Online: Get tips on online shoppping using eBay, PayPal, Amazon, Walmart and other websites from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, in the Hoffer Room at the South Elgin library branch, 127 S. McLean Blvd.

• Internet Security: Learn how to protect against viruses and other bad things from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Elgin Township office, 729 S. McLean Blvd., Elgin.
