Exchange Club of Grayslake to host third annual 'Food Truck Frenzy' May 11

Building off its success in the last two years, the Exchange Club of Grayslake will host its annual Lake County Food Truck Frenzy on Saturday, May 11, at the College of Lake County, 19351 W Washington St., Grayslake. The event, which draws thousands of food enthusiasts, will play host to more than 25 food trucks offering a wide range of food favorites with something for everyone.

VIP early admission at 11 a.m. and general admission from noon to 5 p.m. General admission to the event is $1. Children 3 younger get in free. Online sale of VIP tickets will be available until noon on Saturday, May 11, at beerfests.com. Online adult VIP tickets are $30, and include a T-shirt and drink ticket. A limited number of on-site VIP tickets can be purchased day-of for an additional $5.

Free parking for the event will be available throughout the CLC campus.

Patrons are encouraged to follow "Lake County Food Truck Frenzy" on Facebook for up-to-date information about participating food trucks, maps, entertainment and weather information.

With the rise in popularity of the Food Truck Frenzy, event organizers have announced enhancements to this year's event to make the experience even more enjoyable for food truck vendors and patrons, including the sale of more VIP tickets. Organizers are adding beer and wine options, and additional activities for children, sponsored by The Goddard School. Other event sponsors include RJ Galla Insurance Company, State Bank of the Lakes and Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium.

The Food Truck Frenzy is focused on raising funds for the Exchange Club's signature philanthropic mission: the prevention of child abuse in Lake County. As such, organizers are committed to building a fun, worthwhile event for the community, vendors and sponsors. As in years past, patrons will have the opportunity to bestow the title of "Best Food Truck" at the event; a winning vendor will be chosen by the votes of participating attendees.

"The Food Truck Frenzy has become a recognizable part of Grayslake and Lake County," event organizer Pam Weiss said. "We're thrilled that such a fun family activity has drawn so many people to our community in the name of helping prevent child abuse."

More than 4,000 patrons visited the event last year. Organizers hope to surpass that mark this year, and believe the new partnership with the CLC will make the experience even more enjoyable.

"Our priorities each year will be to increase our fundraising for the mission and fun for the patrons," Weiss said. "We appreciate CLC's enthusiastic response and support to make that happen this year."
