Booth Tarkington School teachers shake things up at McDonald's!
Arlington Heights| Booth Tarkington School students gave their teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support local education and funds for the PTO.
Twenty-five fun-loving teachers and three ISU student teachers from Booth Tarkington School volunteered on Wednesday, April 24th, at the Arlington Heights McDonald's located on Dundee Rd, where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for their school.
Mr. Ardvino, Principal of Booth Tarkington School, was at the event the entire night talking with the families working the Drive-Thru and the Front Counter. Student teacher Julianne Gross, Mrs. Oberman and student teacher Julia Keller wore the apple pie box during the night while Mrs. Zach and other teachers from Tarkington sold the pies the entire night and did a fabulous job raising funds for the school!
Principal Ardvino did an outstanding job working hard throughout the night. The proceeds from the sale of 133 pies went directly to benefit the students. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to Tarkington, which plans to use that money to go into the PTO fund to benefit the students.
The Tarkington community has an amazing network of support for their school, McDonald's was busy the entire evening!
David Bear, Owner-Operator of the Arlington Heights McDonald's, and the Bear family were delighted to participate in this worthy cause for education and the community.
"McTeacher's Night is part of McDonald's larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community." Bear said.
"We are proud to serve the families of the Tarkington community through the McTeacher's Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community."
Bear donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher's Night, the Bear family has set their sights on partnering with other schools in the area.
"The teachers and families who supported this event are the fabric that strengthens this community." Bear said.
