Teachers Flipping Burgers instead of Pages to raise money for School

Wheeling Field Elementary School students gave teachers and administrators an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the Field Elementary Parent & Teacher Organization.

Teachers, support staff and Principal Luis Bonilla from Field Elementary School volunteered behind the counter on Wednesday, March 20th, at the Wheeling McDonald's located on Lake Cook Road, where they served students and their families in their annual fundraiser.

Teacher Joanna Landin sang and danced around the restaurant encouraging students to purchase a delicious apple pie while teachers tended the front counter, served ice cream and presented food at the drive-thru.

The proceeds from the 203 apple pies sold will be used to help support field trips, teacher appreciation gifts and the Field Day celebration. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to the Field PTO.

"This was the best year we have had so far. Thank you to David Bear and the Bear Family Restaurants for their generosity. Field Elementary Teachers and students love McTeacher's Night!"

David Bear, Owner & Operator of the Wheeling McDonald's and the Bear Family were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
