Resource Bank offers scholarship

In 2001, Resource Bank celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Since then, to commemorate that anniversary, it has offered the Centennial Service Award scholarship to graduating high school seniors.

Up to ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who have been highly involved in volunteer work and community service during high school.

Successful applicants will have demonstrated characteristics of citizenship, commitment, ambition, determination, organization, generosity, and caring.

Involvement in community service during high school may include individual activities such as community beautification and clean-up projects, working with senior citizens, helping the homeless, volunteering for the local fire department, rescue squad, hospital, or donating time to a library, animal shelter, or park district.

It also may include organized activities such as Habitat for Humanity, 4-H, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, and/or church activities.

Applicants must be high school seniors who will receive their diploma from an accredited high school in the communities served by Resource Bank during the 2018-2019 school year. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and be attending an institution of higher learning beginning in the fall of 2019.

Applications for this scholarship can be picked up in the guidance office at local area high schools, any Resource Bank, including at 135 W. Oak Knoll Drive in Hampshire, or online at www.ResourceBank.com.

Submit your applications to any Resource Bank not later than Friday, April 12.
