DaVita team donates $2,300 to Feed My Starving Children

DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita Inc., and a leading provider of kidney care services, announced a $2,300 contribution to Feed My Starving Children.

DaVita Amita North and Sherva Acutes presented Feed My Starving Children with a $2,300 check as part of the "DaVita Way of Giving," the company's locally focused charitable giving initiative that helps nonprofit organizations throughout the United States grow and thrive.

Feed My Starving Children is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. DaVita teammates from Sherva Acutes and Amita North chose to donate to Feed My Starving Children because of their mission to save the lives of children globally.

"Feed My Starving Children is a unique organization that provided us an opportunity to serve children in need throughout the global community while allowing us to connect as a team and as a local community," said Georgena Zupan, a DaVita nurse.

Stacey Hartman of Feed My Starving Children said the DaVita contribution will go a long way to support its mission.

"I always struggle to put into words the impact that Feed My Starving Children supporters have on young lives around the world. As you know, DaVita's two combined donation checks provide daily meals for 28 kids for an entire year. And because your donations were matched by our year-end match donors, that becomes 56 kids fed daily for a year. Beautiful numbers," said Hartman.

DaVita, a leading provider of kidney care services committed to improving the quality of life for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, is dedicated to spreading ripples of citizen leadership through its Trilogy of Care - caring for its patients, caring for each other and caring for the world.
