West Hosts Creative Science Competition

On Thursday, January 24, 2019, West Elementary School held its Creative Science Competition. This event was inspired by the STEM curriculum currently taught at District 6. At the start of the event, all participants were given a bag of random objects. Each team of builders was tasked with creating a model that incorporated movement. To the untrained eye, these items seemed like nothing more than junk. However, to the creative minds of West's students and families, this was an opportunity to invent an ingenious model of movement. The competition was fierce and the judges had a tough time deciding the top three winners.
