Oswald's Pharmacy general manager predicts medical equipment industry trends

Alex Anderson, general manager and sixth generation of the Oswald's Pharmacy family, was recently published in HomeCare Magazine.

The magazine provides the latest for home and durable medical equipment providers, home health agencies and caregiver markets.

Anderson's article, "Is It Time To Get Back Into Billing?", reflects on the self-pay model that Oswald's currently has for their durable medical equipment.

In the article, Anderson also looks toward ways to continue momentum as an independent brick and mortar in 2019.

When Oswald's expanded their medical equipment offerings in 2015, Anderson evaluated the self-pay model against billing insurance for durable medical equipment. After re-evaluating this past year, Anderson still found the self-pay model to be the best fit based on industry trends and insight from industry experts.

Amid the unknown of how online retail giants may impact Oswald's durable medical equipment business, Anderson focuses on the opportunity for the Naperville business to cement their impact within the community.

"We plan on increasing our involvement in local events, teaching more classes at community centers and retirement homes, and making new connections with hospitals and doctors out in the field," Anderson writes.
