Clare Oaks earns top ratings from U.S. News & World Report and CMS

Among best in the country to be recognized for both short-term rehab, skilled nursing care.

Clare Oaks, a senior living community in Bartlett, Ill., continues to earn a 5-star rating from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for both its short-term rehab and skilled nursing care programs. U.S. News & World Report also ranked Clare Oaks in its "Highest-Performing" category for 2018-2019 when it studied the data for 15,000 nursing homes across the country.

This year, the publication introduced its short-term rehabilitation rating, aiming to provide a clearer view of care provided by the nation's nearly 13,000 short-term care providers for patients needing intensive rehabilitation or nursing services before returning home after a surgery, stroke, accident or illness. Clare Oaks is one of only 1,844 short-term rehab providers included in the top 12 percent of this new nationwide survey.

CMS also placed Clare Oaks in an elite group, the top 3 percent of nursing homes nationwide, by recognizing the not-for-profit community's superior record of low hospital readmissions.

"We are very proud of these achievements because only 736 nursing homes in the nation received top marks in both overall and short-term rehab categories. Our staff excels at encouraging everyone who temporarily stays or lives at Clare Oaks to focus on regaining independence. And, it definitely takes a team effort to realize these victories," said Gigi Walker, CEO of Clare Oaks.
