Run for a seat on the Naperville Park Board

Candidate nomination materials for the 2019 Naperville Park District Board of Park Commissioners election are due by 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17.

Three positions are open for Park Board in the Consolidated Election on April 2, 2019; newly elected commissioners will serve four-year terms.

Those who wish to run for a seat on the board must be a Naperville Park District resident for at least one year prior to the election, and a qualified voter therein.

The official filing dates are Monday through Friday, Dec. 10-14, and Monday, Dec. 17.

Candidate materials required for filing include a statement of candidacy, receipt from the county clerk evidencing filing of a statement of economic interests, and nonpartisan petition sheets with a minimum of 274 signatures (two percent of the ballots cast in the last park district election).

These may be dropped off at the park district administration building, 320 W. Jackson Ave., between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Marie Todd, Rich Janor and Jim Ensign hold the three park board positions that will expire in April 2019. Bobby Carlsen, Bill Eagan, Mike King and Mike Reilly were elected in 2017 to serve through 2021.

Candidates are solely responsible for complying with all requirements of the law concerning their candidacy and are therefore encouraged to consult an attorney prior to circulating petitions and before filing for any office.
