Lombard ready to celebrate JingleBell Jubilee
Lombard community organizations will unite to celebrate the holiday season Dec. 1 as part of the Lilac Village's 13th annual JingleBell Jubilee celebration.
The party will run from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in downtown.
Village President Keith Giagnorio and park district President Dave Kundrot will open the event at 5:30 p.m. by welcoming Santa's arrival to Lilacia Park.
After a brief introduction, the lights of Lilacia Park will be turned on. Guests are highly encouraged to arrive early to this heavily attended event and should be in place by 5:30 p.m. to ensure they don't miss the arrival of Santa or the lighting of the park.
A free holiday trolley will provide a warm and convenient connection between the following locations throughout the evening:
Helen Plum Library: Hear performances from the Glenbard East Madrigals and Sorella Singers at 6:10, 6:50 and 7:30 p.m. A craft project will be available in Youth Services starting at 5 p.m.
Lombard Bible Church: Glenbard East Honors Strings will perform three short concerts at 6, 6:45 and 7:30 p.m. Crafts and snacks also will be available.
Lombard Historical Society: The Victorian Cottage Museum will host a "Candlelight Christmas Tour" from 6 to 8 p.m. where participants will get a glimpse back in time to see a Christmas Eve during Victorian times. Kids' crafts, live music, cookies and punch will be available in the Carriage House.
Lilacia Park: Meet with Santa after his arrival and enjoy other festivities in the park, including a bonfire pit, hot cocoa and cookies with Mrs. Claus, a free holiday train ride and snacks. This year's display will feature more than 500,000 lights.
Lombard Town Centre: Stroll along Park Avenue and St. Charles Road to see real live dancers as they recreate scenes from "The Nutcracker" in store windows from 5 to 7 p.m.
Maple Street Chapel: Maple Street Chapel will host festive singalongs from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
