Act of Grace to perform Nov. 17 at Good Shepherd

On Saturday, Nov. 17, Act of Grace will be returning to Good Shepherd Lutheran to perform at the 5 p.m. service.

The group is made up of Elgin area church musicians who share a special sound in the style of folk music. Their blend of voices and instruments is enjoyable as they sing original songs written by members of the group.

On Nov. 17-18, the Rev. Steve Maske will share the message "Treasures in Heaven," based on Matthew 6:19-24.

The church offers blended-style service at 5 p.m. Satudays, and a traditional service with organ/piano music and traditional liturgy at 8:30 a.m. and a contemporary service with modern music from the praise band at 10 a.m. Sundays.

Holy Communion is celebrated on the second and fourth weekends of the month.

Good Shepherd Lutheran is located at 195 Nesler Road in Elgin. For information, call the church office at (847) 741-7788 or visit www.goodshepherd-elgin.org.

Good Shepherd is accepting applications for its Christ-centered preschool.
