Apply now for spring 2019 S-STEM Student Success Scholarship

Applications are currently being accepted for the spring 2019 S-STEM Student Success Scholarship, a program created to recruit and retain students in the targeted areas of physics, chemistry and engineering, as well as closely related fields in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

This year's deadline to apply is Tuesday, Nov. 27.

The National Science Foundation funded S-STEM Scholarship at College of DuPage covers tuition and fees at College of DuPage for one year and maybe be renewed for an additional year based on student eligibility.

The S-STEM Student Success program addresses the needs of students and the community by promoting education and careers in STEM fields for traditionally underserved students.

Providing enhanced educational opportunities and support structures, the program features a dedicated STEM Student Success Coach and provides Individualized academic, advising and career support through case management, counseling, guided study groups, faculty mentoring and cohort-based courses and tutoring.

In addition, enhanced educational opportunities such as internships, job shadowing, industry networking, speaker's bureau events and undergraduate research opportunities are available to S-STEM students.

The goal of STEM at College of DuPage is to enhance the quality of STEM instructional and outreach programs and to help current and future students prepare for careers in STEM fields.

The College of DuPage offers a broad range of academic programs designed to provide students with the educational background and training needed to successfully pursue an advanced degree or career in STEM. In addition, the college offers a variety of free events to engage, inform and entertain students and community members, including the STEMinar Series and STEMCON, an annual interactive, family-based celebration of all things STEM hosted at the college each spring.
