Get orders in for annual corned beef and turkey lunch sale

The Sisterhood of Congregation Kneseth Israel, Elgin's oldest synagogue, is once again preparing for their annual corned beef and turkey lunch fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 15.

This event has become an Elgin community tradition as this dedicated group of women (and men) have prepared delicious meals featuring a corned beef or turkey sandwich, chips, a huge kosher pickle, and dessert for well over 35 years.

Proceeds of this annual fundraiser benefit the synagogue, but also address hunger as a portion of the funds raised will be shared with the Elgin Community Crisis Center and Mazon, a charitable organization responding to hunger across the country.

Individuals and businesses of the wider Elgin community are encouraged to place orders online before Sunday, Oct. 28, at www.ckielgin.org.

For orders of 10 or more, the Sisterhood offers delivery at no additional charge. All other orders are to be picked up at the synagogue at 330 Division St. in Elgin.
