St. Charles woman gets motorcycle ride as a birthday present

When Diane Morales of Maple Park noticed Randy's Cycles of Marengo offering test rides a few weeks ago in its Ural sidecars, she thought it might be the perfect surprise for her mom's Oct. 16 birthday.

She reached out on Facebook to Jason Mroz, the sales manager, telling him about how Judy Georgi of St. Charles, who is turning 79, had a motorcycle ride on her bucket list. A route and time were planned, and Mroz used Facebook to ask other customers to help make Georgi's ride extra special.

Morales enlisted her sister-in-law, Christine Georgi, to conduct a day drive in the country on Sept. 29 so they could "stumble" upon Randy's Cycles.

As they pulled in, she reminded Georgi how she always wanted to ride on a motorcycle and suggested they take a look around. That is when Georgi saw 25 motorcycles lined up waiting for her. She was stunned.

The bikes lined up and she led the ride inside the sidecar over some back roads and then on Route 20 through downtown Marengo on the way back to Randy's Cycles. She had a beaming smile the entire time and said she wouldn't mind doing it again.

Owner Randy Weaver told her she is more than welcome to come back anytime.
