Enjoy the Haunted Trail & More in Lindenhurst Oct. 13

The Lindenhurst Park District's Haunted Trail & More will move to a new location this year: The Lippert Community Center, at 2200 E. Grass Lake Road, Lindenhurst.

Festivities take place from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. Admission is free.

Activities will include train rides, a costume contest, stage acts, children's games, the Witches Kitchen, a bonfire with s'mores, bounce houses, face painting and more.

The costume contests for ages 2-4, 5-7, 8-10 and 11-13, which will begin at 3:30 p.m. Contestants must register at 3 p.m. near the Cornstalk Stage at the Parkman Pavilion.

Train rides, which will run from 3-7 p.m., and live entertainment acts are free. Acts will be performed on the Cornstalk Stage, and include Kevin Farris singing Halloween stories at 5:30 p.m., Chris Fascione with Scared Silly Stories at 6 p.m., Balloon Dude Dale at 6:30 p.m., Miss Jamie's Farm at 7 p.m. and Jason the Juggler at 7:30 p.m.

Children's games and the Witches Kitchen will be open from 3-8 p.m., and will require tickets, which can be purchased at the Ticket Tent on-site.

The Haunted Trail itself will be open from 6-8 p.m., with a cost of $1 per person for each time through, or two tickets.

If parking is full at the community center, additional parking will be available at Heritage Lutheran Church, 630 Beck Road, Lindenhurst, with a shuttle to bring guests back and forth to the park district.
