South Elgin KinderCare reopens after fire, offering thanks to local firefighters

Last March the unthinkable happened: The Spring Street KinderCare Learning Center was destroyed in a devastating fire that started just 45 minutes before the first teachers and children were scheduled to arrive. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Now, after months of repairs, KinderCare teachers and staff are excited to welcome families back to the newly rebuilt South Elgin center at 1250 W. Spring St.

The KinderCare Learning Center celebrated their reopening Saturday, Aug. 25, with some special guests - officers from the South Elgin fire department who helped to extinguish the fire last spring.

The Spring Street children surprised the firefighters with a token of their heartfelt thanks for all the work they did to save the center.

Firefighters to arrive at 11:15 a.m.
