Music, reptiles, raptors at Medinah Family Fest

There will be music, a reptile show, children's games, a petting zoo and more during Medinah Park District's annual Family Fest celebration.

The party will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, on the grounds of North Thorndale Park/Connolly Recreation Center, 22W130 Thorndale Ave.

Featured attractions will include The Stingrays, a band playing hits of the '50s and '60s, along with Dave Dinaso's Reptile Show.

The fest also includes a climbing wall, the chance for kids to view and touch trucks, inflatables, a trackless train, a petting zoo, Wifflot Homerun Derby, the Wings & Talons Raptor Show, program demonstrations, community/business vendors, raffle prizes, bags game and more.

Food and beverage will be provided by Golden Eagle Hot Dogs, Bob's Awesome Lemon Shake Ups, Boy Scout Troop 95 and the Medinah Elementary District 11 PTO.

The event usually draws more than 1,000 people.
