Hanover Township seniors to showcase original works at 12th annual show

Hanover Township seniors will be displaying their works of art in the township's 12th annual "Got Art?" show to run through the month of August. Residents are encouraged to stop by and see the hundreds of pieces created by adults, age 55 or older, in paintings, ceramics and other handicrafts classes offered at the Hanover Township Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett.

On Thursday, Aug. 2, the public is welcome to attend the artists reception at the senior center from 1 to 4 p.m. Light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served. There also will be a live musical performance from "Rabbit Ears" guitar and flutist at 2 p.m.

The township will recognize Sue Baptist, the visual arts instructor for the Department of Senior Services, for her 11 years of service following the musical performance.
