'Much Ado About Nothin' the Musical' to open July 19

Burkhalter Productions, in cooperation with Huntley Unit District 158, will present “Much Ado About Nothin' the Musical” on July 19-21.

Writer Holly Beardsley uses the original comedic effect in this rewritten modern musical version of Shakespeare's classic play, “Much Ado About Nothing.” With a nod to Irving Berlin and the jukebox musicals of the early 20th century, “Much Ado About Nothin' the Musical” is a swinging good time, with a laugh and song to leave you whistlin' for more.

Directed by Beardsley with the assistance of student directors Emma Erturk and Emily Rubino, the musical features a cast of nearly 60 fifth- through 10th-grade students acting, singing and dancing their way through this hilarious musical.

“Much Ado About Nothin' the Musical” will be performed for audiences at 7 p.m. July 19-21 in the Huntley District 158 Performing Arts Center located at Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road.

Tickets are $5 each, general seating and can be purchased at the door. Children 3 and under are admitted free.
