YWCA Elgin to host annual 'Queen for a Day' Aug. 11

Join the YWCA Elgin for a "Queen For a Day" tea party that brings together mothers, daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters for a morning full of fun. It will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Elgin Country Club, 2575 Weld Road in Elgin. Reservations are due by Aug. 3.

It will feature live music, princesses, the crowning of the Royal Court, a parade of the "Queens of the Past," a kids craft, a beauty parlor by Tricoci University, a singalong, Name-That-Tune, a D.I.Y. photo booth, raffles, tea, a delicious brunch and a $100 door prize!

All proceeds benefit the YWCA Elgin's educational programs.

Each adult reservation comes with a chance to become the "Queen for the Day" or one of three "Ladies-in-Waiting," and each child reservation comes with a chance of being crowned the "Princess."

In addition to being crowned, each member of the Royal Court wins an extravagant gift-basket full of prizes, including gift cards and jewelry.

Tickets are $30 or $15 for children, age 12 or younger.

Sponsorships are available. Pearl sponsorship for $50 includes one adult reservation; Ruby level for $100 includes one adult reservation and one raffle ticket; Diamond level for $150 includes one adult reservation, two raffle tickets, and two extra chances to be on the Royal Court; and Empress level for $450 includes table for 10, premium table location, and 10 raffle tickets.
