IFN in Libertyville celebrates grand opening of health clinic

On May 6th the Islamic Foundation North (IFN) mosque community in Libertyville celebrated the Grand Opening of the IFN Health Clinic with a presentation to the community, a Ribbon Cutting ceremony, and a buffet lunch.

The IFN Health Clinic has been open since December, serving uninsured patients in Lake County. The volunteer staff provides physician consultations, referrals, access to low cost medications, lab work and radiology services for people with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and non-emergency medical problems. Informal patient surveys of quality indicators show staff demonstration of respect, physician receptivity and response to the patient's health needs, and an understanding by the patient of treatment recommendations and follow-up instructions at 100% excellent.

Mr. Mayor Sam Cunningham of Waukegan addressed the audience and offered congratulations to IFN, and encouragement for the Muslim community to consider opening additional free and charitable clinics in the future, to build momentum in addressing the unmeet health care needs in the wider community. The IFN Health Clinic is open to the public during the summer months as well on Sundays from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Islamic Foundation North 1751 O'Plaine Road Libertyville, 60048. Walk-ins are welcome.
