Why artists love Promenade of Art

Helen Chen, Arlington Heights, jewelry: It all comes down to the people. As a local artist, it's very exciting to be able to showcase my work to the people in my hometown. This is a community that embraces art and music, and its people are truly welcoming. They treat everyone like family, and you can certainly count on them to come out and support the artists.

Shari Emme, Arlington Heights, abstract acrylic paintings: This is my third year displaying my work at the show. I love connecting with people in my own community who attend the show. It brings added warmth to the experience of this fabulous event.

Frank Franiak, Arlington Heights, abstract digital art: Although this is my first year as an exhibitor, I have attended art fairs throughout the Chicago metropolitan area for many years. I chose to be in this fair vs. others because of the unique vibrancy that is present in downtown Arlington Heights and the high quality of the artists at this event.

Patricia Magdziarz, Arlington Heights, functional ceramic pottery: I have attended as a patron in the past. The Promenade of Art is well organized. The quality of art is top-notch and it is generally well attended. Like other top shows, patrons are knowledgeable and appreciate the artists' efforts and displays.

Meghan Ryan, Grayslake, hand-printed signs and decor: This is my first time selling at Promenade of Art, but third summer selling with Amdur Productions. I frequently visited this festival when I lived in Arlington Heights and was just starting to sell my work. For me, selling in this particular show after building up my work and booth display feels like a big accomplishment. Promenade of Art was a festival that I always visited and enjoyed the atmosphere. Arlington Heights has a history and welcoming feeling that makes you want to hang out and enjoy the food, music and entertainment. People keep coming back to the businesses and downtown area, and for a vendor that's exactly where we want to sell and be a part of that visitor's experience.
