Women to discuss their experiences in politics at Dundee Township Democrats meeting

The 2018 election cycle has as an unprecedented number of women running for office up and down the ballot.

The Dundee Township Democrats invite Dundee Township voters to meet, hear and ask questions of a panel of women discussing their experiences in the political arena.

Panel participants include:

• State Sen. Cristina Castro, 22nd District, will speak on legislation concerning women's issues during the legislative session and what to expect next session.

• Corinne Pierog, chair of the Kane County Democratic Women of Illinois and first vice chair of Kane County Democrats, will talk about the history of the Equal Rights Amendment and the group Kane County Democratic Women of Illinois.

• Nancy Zettler, candidate for Illinois State Senate 33rd District, will share what it is like to be a woman candidate this election cycle.

After the panel discussion, the floor will be opened for dialogue and questions.

The panel discussion will occur at the regular monthly meeting of the Dundee Township Democrats from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 11, on the second floor of Emmett's Brewing Co., 128 W. Main St. in West Dundee. A dinner and refreshment menu is available.

The Dundee Township Democrats meet from 7 to 9 p.m. on the second Monday of every month at Emmett's. All are welcome.
