Woodland Middle School to Present Vignettes April 27 and 28

Gurnee--Woodland Middle School Drama Club will present "Step Into the Spotlight," a series of four vignettes on Friday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 28 at 6 p.m. in the Middle School's cafeteria A, 7000 Washington St., Gurnee.

Each of the four plays are directed by a Woodland Middle School Drama club member. "Piglet" is an adaptation of "Hamlet," set in a barnyard. Characters include Cowdius, Felinia, Goatrude, and Ponius. "Brace Yourself" is a story that many teenagers will be able to relate to. It is sweet, funny, and a little sappy. "My Little Brother" is a play by Dan Berkowitz that is witty, but also pulls at your heart strings. Lastly, "The Support Group" is a hilarious performance in which drama students must really find their "inner monster."

Tickets will be sold at the door. One ticket is good for the four vignettes. They are $3 for students (under 13 years of age) and $5 for adults.

The director for "Step Into the Spotlight" is Sara Roediger.

Members of the media are encouraged to take photos at the dress rehearsal held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 25.
