Geneva Earth Day celebration set for April 21

Geneva families are encouraged to go green as the city's Natural Resources Committee and the Geneva Park District team up to celebrate Earth Day.

The 11th annual Earth Day festivities will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road. Residents can purchase rain barrels, receive a bicycle tune-up, meet with green vendors, shred documents for free and peruse the Farmers Market.

Patrons can stop by the Geneva Public Library's table for the "take a book or leave a book" program. The "reading green" idea asks people to bring a gently used book from home and exchange it for another used book of their choice.

Other Earth Day highlights include chalk art, children's activities, chair massages, health screenings and more. Families also are invited to walk Peck Farm to enjoy the natural surroundings. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
