Girl Scouts in Service Unit 403 of the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana are invited to attend a Kindness Convention on April 10 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Winston Campus, 900 E. Palatine Road, Palatine. The event will be a celebration of kindness through games, activities, crafts, and projects.

The evening's service projects will include creating placemats for the Journeys-The Road Home PADS shelter and collecting pasta and sauce for the Palatine Township Food Pantry. Activities will begin with stories about kindness presented by the Palatine Public Library, followed by visits to a variety of stations that will include activities, crafts, and games that will allow the girl scouts to celebrate kindness together.

The fee is $4 per girl which will include a fun patch, a light snack, and giveaways from event supporters including Cindy Chabowski of Morton Suggestion Company and KIND Snacks. RSVP forms are due from troop leaders by March 23, the form can be obtained by emailing the event coordinator, Joan Scovic, at jscovic@gmail.com. Scovic is presenting the event as her Capstone Project for a degree at Loyola University Chicago. The Capstone Program is a required experiential learning component that encourages students to "apply their learning to a real-world project, to reflect on their learning, and to demonstrate their learning" through a project that "reflects values-based leadership and community commitment to make the world a better place."
