Thinking about spring? Plots available at Community Gardens in Prairie Green

The Geneva Park District has announced that garden plots are available at the Community Gardens at Prairie Green.

Located at the intersection of Peck and Bricher roads in Geneva, the Community Garden is open between April and October from dawn until dusk.

The plots are available for rent on an annual first-come, first-served basis, with returning gardeners receiving priority.

The cost per plot is $45 for Geneva Park District residents and $60 for nonresidents.

The Community Gardens at Prairie Green offers residents and nonresidents the opportunity to grow fruits, vegetables and flowers; spend time outdoors enjoying nature; and share gardening knowledge and skills with others. Excess produce is donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

The Community Gardens at Prairie Green is a cooperative partnership between the Geneva Park District, City of Geneva and the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.
