Stop by Family Fun Fair Feb. 17 at Vaughan Center

Families and children are invited to the Vaughan Athletic Center Saturday, Feb. 17, when the Fox Valley Park District will stage its annual Family Fun Fair. The educational and interactive event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is free to all who attend. Children will have opportunities to take part in fun and healthy activities that include an obstacle course, various youth fitness demos, bounce houses and many other activities to get kids moving.

"The goal is for kids to be active and healthy and a big part of that is introducing them to fun and engaging forms of exercise," said event organizer Matt Odom. "By making exercise fun, kids are more likely to develop positive lifelong habits of health and wellness."

Entertainment will take place throughout the event, including a Kids Karate Club demonstration, fitness instruction by Vaughan's personal trainers and a new baby crawl contest. Other scheduled features include WBIG Fox Sports Radio with special giveaways, continuous tunes provided by a live DJ and an appearance by Parker, the Fox Valley Park District mascot.

In addition, dozens of vendors and local businesses will be on hand to promote active pursuits and healthy lifestyles.

Vaughan Athletic Center is at 121 W. Indian Trail, Aurora.
