Beat cabin fever at Fox Valley Family Fun Fair

At Fox Valley Park District's Family Fun Fair, kids can take part in healthy activities that include an obstacle course, youth fitness demos, bounce houses and other activities designed to get them moving.

The free annual event runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Vaughan Athletic Center, 2121 W. Indian Trail, Aurora.

"The goal is for kids to be active and healthy, and a big part of that is introducing them to fun and engaging forms of exercise," event organizer Matt Odom said. "By making exercise fun, kids are more likely to develop positive lifelong habits of health and wellness."

Entertainment will take place throughout the event, including a Kids Karate Club demonstration, fitness instruction by Vaughan's personal trainers and a baby crawling contest that's new this year. Other scheduled features include tunes provided by a DJ and an appearance by Parker, the Fox Valley Park District mascot.

In addition, dozens of vendors and local businesses will be on hand to promote active pursuits and healthy lifestyles.
