Winners named in 2018 Naperville Table Tennis Tournament

The annual Naperville Table Tennis Tournament, co-sponsored by the Naperville Park District and the Naperville Table Tennis Club, took place on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the River Woods School gym with 40 adults and 20 youth participating.

"It was exciting to see four members of a family compete in the tournament," said Program Manager Brock Atwell. "Sangita Naresh won the women's open and one of the Naresh's sons (Sid) played his father (Arcot) in the finals and won the men's open. Both Sid and his brother, Nandan are in the top five nationally within their respective age groups."

The results for all of the divisions were as follows:

• Ages 7-11 finalist Evan Ziegler and champion Krish Manek;

• Ages 12-13 finalist Gabe Patrascu and champion Derek Sisbarro;

• Ages 14-17 finalist Alex Jang and champion Wesley Wu;

• Men's Open finalist Arcot Naresh and champion Sid Naresh;

• Men's Masters finalist Todd Kaney and champion John Brandt;

• Women's Open finalist Archana Gidwani and champion Sangita Naresh.
