The Geneva Park District offer a variety of trips for seniors. Did you know that traveling, even on day trips, offers both physical and social benefits? 'Let's Go Nuts': Sometimes you feel like a nut! Tour the Terri Lynn plant in South Elgin and get the scoop on how they process a variety of nuts, dried fruits and chocolates from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25. Visit the small outlet store for deals and samples. Enjoy lunch on your own at Leonardo's Family Restaurant. End the day with a visit to the Fisher Nut outlet, where variety is the spice of life. Cost is $15. Trip includes transportation and tour.

Chicago Steel Hockey: The Chicago Steel, 2017 Clark Cup Champions, are defending their title this year. Part of the United States Hockey League, the players, age 16-20, are recruited from across the country and internationally. Check out the action from the comfort of the reserved suite as the Steel takes on the Muskegon Lumberjacks! It will be 2:45 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, at Fox Valley Ice Arena, 1996 S. Kirk Road in Geneva. Game starts at 3:05 p.m. Order off the menu from Chelio's on your own if you wish. $57. Trip includes transportation, game and suite seating.

'From the Farm - Theater at the Center': Join columnist and cookbook author Phil Potempa for a feast of fun and surprises as he recreates on stage the charm and traditions of the family farm kitchen he writes about in his popular "From the Farm" column. It will be 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, in Munster, Indiana. Phil, joined by special guests, prepares seven courses of favorite recipes, with time to spare for prizes and giveaways, all in a two-hour whirlwind of entertaining, inviting and appetizing down-home hospitality. Brunch is included before the show in this special event at the Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster. Be part of the extravaganza in time for Valentine's Day. Cost is $95. 'Cabaret': It's the early 1930s in Berlin, and life is changing. 'The Wizard of Oz': Christian Youth Theater productions star students, age 8-18, and are fully imagined and staged productions for the whole family. The trip will be 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Batavia Fine Arts Center, 1201 W. Main St. in Batavia. A young farm girl named Dorothy is caught in a twister that carries her over the rainbow and into the Land of Oz There she meets a scarecrow with no brain, a tin man with no heart and a lion with no courage. Together they embark down the yellow brick road to meet the Wizard, destroy the Wicked Witch of the West, and find a way home. This classic tale is presented in a way that will make you fall in love with the Land of Oz all over again. Show starts at 11:45 a.m. If driving on own, please meet in the Batavia Fine Arts Center lobby at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is on your own after the show at Denny's. Cost is $17 with transportation, $10 without transportation. Trip includes ticket and transportation option.

'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat': Travel to Drury Lane for the meteoric first collaboration of Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," finishes our season with a bang. The trip will be 10:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the theater, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. Join Israel's favorite son, Joseph, through his tumultuous ascent to the top in this timeless reminder of the unquenchable thirst of a man with a dream who had the courage to forge the destiny of a people and its powerful message of hope. The classic story of Joseph is paired with exuberant music, featuring favorites such as "Close Every Door," "Go, Go, Go Joseph" and "Any Dream Will Do." Before the show enjoy a luncheon with your choice of: bistro Steak with Bordelaise sauce; or lake trout with citrus caper sauce. Both include soup, mashed potatoes, vegetable, dessert and beverage. 'City of Lights Tour & Baker's Square': Enjoy a tour of Aurora with a step-on guide historian including the Grand Army of the Republic building, a founder home, The Tanner House, and the Aurora Historical Society Museum. It will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 7. Attendees will ride to Plano to also tour the historical Farnsworth House. Before the tour, enjoy lunch on your own at Baker's Square. Complimentary pie is included with your entree. Cost is $19. Trip includes tours and transportation.
