Amdur Productions Hosts Art Fest Boot Camp

Local artists planning to exhibit at any of Chicagoland's summer art fairs or festivals, or interested in promoting themselves and their art, are invited to take part in this year's Art Fest Boot Camp.

Art Fest Book Camp is a free workshop designed especially for artists who will be exhibiting at art fairs and festivals. Amy Amdur, president of Amdur Productions, will be the featured speaker.

She and her team are the producers of more than two dozen annual art festivals throughout Chicagoland, and Amdur will share her knowledge and insights to help artists get the most from their art fair or festival experience.

During the presentation, Amdur will discuss how to create a winning booth display, how artists can best promote themselves, the art of selling, and more. Artists are encouraged to bring a piece of art with them so Amdur can give pointers on how to showcase and speak about the work.

Art Fest Boot Camp will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Highland Park Country Club, 1201 Park Ave. West, Highland Park. There is no cost to attend, but artists must RSVP. Space is limited.

For information or to RSVP, call Caitlin Pfleger at (847) 926-4300 or email caitlin@amdurproductions.com.

Artists can also register online at amdurproductions.com under "Artist Information."

For 35 years the Highland Park-based Amdur Productions has organized and directed juried art festivals, including many in the Chicago area, such as the Gold Coast Art Fair, the Port Clinton Art Festival, Millennium Art Festival, Artfest Michigan Avenue, the West Loop Art Fest, and the Third Ward Art Festival in Milwaukee.

Many Amdur Productions' events are rated in Sunshine Artist Magazine's "Top 100 Best Fine Art & Design Shows" and Art Fair Calendar's "Best Art Fairs."

Upcoming local art fairs and festivals Amdur Productions has scheduled include the Barrington Art Festival May 26 and 27, the Promenade of Art June 9 and 10 in Arlington Heights, the Festival of Fine Arts at The Art Center Highland Park June 23 and 24, and the Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival June 29 to July 1 in Glencoe.
