Barrington chamber to present top business awards

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce will present its top business awards and announce its new leadership during the "Spirit of Excellence" annual Dinner and Scholarship Fundraiser Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at the Stonegate Banquet & Conference Centre.

The event attracts nearly 200 business, community and governmental leaders for a year-end celebration of business and community achievements. Tickets to the event are $50 per member, $65 per guest and can be purchased online at www.BarringtonChamber.com.

The event kicks off a new year of opportunity and raises money for chamber programs and the Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship fund. Last year, Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce awarded seven scholarships to local high school students.

The fund has provided thousands of dollars in scholarship monies to local students who go on to attend universities, community college or an accredited certification program that builds future careers.

Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce is the largest and most active regional chamber, with nearly 900 members and nearly 200 networking opportunities each year.

During the annual dinner, the new 2018 Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors will be officially installed and awards will be presented for the Hospitality Member of the Year, Community Partner of the Year, Business of the Year, Chamber Volunteer of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Young Entrepreneurs of the Year, and other recognitions.

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1969, is an association dedicated to the success and prosperity of the 11 regional communities it serves: Barrington, Barrington Hills, Deer Park, Inverness, Kildeer, Lake Barrington, Long Grove, North Barrington, Port Barrington, South Barrington and Tower Lakes.

The chamber promotes economic opportunities, advocates the interests of business, offers programs for professional development and leadership, and works to foster a robust regional economy.
