Marmion students recognized in National Merit Program

Three Marmion Academy seniors have been named Commended Students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Jack Caton of Geneva, Matthew Lagman of Oswego and Eric O'Brien of North Aurora are recognized for their exceptional academic promise.

They placed among the top 50,000 of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, PSAT/NMSQT.

Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities.

Marmion Academy, a Catholic-Benedictine college preparatory school for young men, is a community dedicated to spiritual formation, academic excellence and leadership development.
