Winners named in Waukegan library's Ray Bradbury Creative Contest
Waukegan Public Library has announced the winners of the 33rd annual Ray Bradbury Creative Contest. This year, the library received more than 90 submissions to its contest celebrating the creative talent of Waukegan native Ray Bradbury. Submissions came from Waukegan and surrounding communities, and from all over the United States.
The 2017 theme asked writers and artists of all ages to create a work of art - a poem, story, or visual piece - that explored outer space.
"There was so much creativity in this year's submissions," Waukegan Public Library Executive Director Richard Lee said. "It's great to see so many people - especially so many young artists and writers - who are inspired by the legacy of Ray Bradbury."
