Barrington man indicted on charge of first-degree murder in estranged girlfriend’s deathDec 13, 2024 1:49 pm - Cook County prosecutors on Friday announced the indictment of a Barrington man who they say beat his estranged girlfriend, a Vernon Hill endocrinologist, with a baseball bat last month before shooting her in the stomach. William R. Zientek is charged with first-degree murder. He’ll be arraigned on Jan. 9.
