Bulls' two-way addition Lewis suffers knee injury
Bulls two-way player Justin Lewis suffered an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee over the weekend, he team announced, and will undergo surgery in the coming weeks.
The Bulls say Lewis is out indefinitely. Based on the nature of the injury, it's probably safe to say his season is in jeopardy.
Lewis agreed to a two-way deal shortly after going undrafted on June 23. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 7 points and 4.4 rebounds and shot 46% at the Las Vegas summer league last month.
The Baltimore native spent two years at Marquette, where he averaged 16.8 points and 7.9 rebounds last season as a sophomore.
It's not clear if the Bulls will seek another two-way player. The team made a qualifying offer to 6-6 swingman Malcolm Hill, who finished last season with the Bulls, but there has been no announcement of a contract agreement. Two-way players split their time between the NBA squad and its G-League affiliate, with each team allowed two. The Bulls have filled all 15 regular roster spots.
