Baseball: Alvarez pitches Lake Park over Wheaton North

Lake Park defeated visiting Wheaton North 2-1 on Tuesday to salvage the third game of their DuKane Conference series.

The Falcons (10-8, 5-4) had won the first two games of the series, 8-5 and 5-2.

The Lancers broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the bottom of the sixth in the finale.

Tyler O'Connor had 2 hits to lead the Falcons.

Wheaton North's Fred Elftmann pitched 6 innings and had 8 strikeouts. He only allowed 4 hits, two each by Max Baer and Sam DeConcilis.

Those two also drove in the Lancers' two runs. Sophomore Sebby Alvarez pitched 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and a run. David Deimling earned the save.
