Ball is latest Bulls player to hit injured list

Lonzo Ball joined the Bulls' injury list Saturday. After being listed as questionable on the injury report, he did not play Saturday at Boston due to left knee soreness.

"He's dealt with that over a period of time," coach Billy Donovan said before the game. "He was dealing with it (Friday) in the game a little bit and then I think they talked after the game and informed me on the way here that he was having some soreness, were probably going to put him as questionable on the medical report.

"Then when we met this morning, he still had some soreness in that joint and they just wanted to rest him. I don't want to say he's day-to-day. I think for the Memphis game (Monday), right now at this time, he would be doubtful."

This was the first game Ball has missed due to injury this season. He was out for five games while in health and safety protocols.

Since returning, he's been hot from 3-point range. Over the past five games, he's hit 19 of 38 attempts from behind the arc for an even 50 percent.

"I don't think there was any play (where the injury happened), I think it was just more over a period of time, I would say," Donovan said. "I just think it was a build up of some joint soreness that he had been dealing with that has maybe gotten worse over a period of time. I think the evaluation last night and this morning got him to a place where he'll be out."

Without Ball and Zach LaVine, the Bulls started Coby White and rookie Ayo Dosunmu in the backcourt against Boston.
