Bulls' Caruso to miss multiple games with sore hamstring

The Bulls plan to let Alex Caruso rest for a week, then reevaluate his sore hamstring, coach Billy Donovan said before Monday's date with Denver. That means he's likely to miss at least three games.

Caruso was listed as questionable for Saturday's game in Brooklyn, started and played eight minutes, but then went to the locker room and did not return to action. Donovan doesn't think Caruso made anything worse by trying to play against the Nets.

"It's just the same thing, it's kind of like a hamstring issue, calf issue," Donovan said. "It's not significant. He got an MRI, he's gotten treatment. I think with something like that the bigger concern is if we bring him back too early and now it goes from something that was minor to something more significant.

"That's not to sit there and say he'll be back in a week. He could be. But he'll be evaluated. And we'll see how he responds to treatment, and like I said he'll be able to do things and they'll push him a little bit and if he starts to feel it, they'll pull back."

Caruso has been a catalyst for the Bulls this season, especially on defense. He's averaging 8.5 points, 4.1 assists and a league-best 2.2 steals.
