Hampshire's Brosman named Chicago Bears Coach of the Week
The Chicago Bears announced Thursday that coach Jake Brosman of Hampshire High School has been named the Chicago Bears High School Coach of the Week for Week 7 and running back Jordan Anderson of Joliet Catholic Academy was named the Chicago Bears High School All-Star.
The Coach of the Week and High School All-Stars programs are sponsored by Athletico Physical Therapy. The Bears will make a $2,000 donation to
the Hampshire High School football program and direct a $500 donation to the youth football program of Anderson's choice.
Last Friday, Brosman and the Whip-Purs (5-2) won their home Fox Valley Conference game against Huntley (2-5) 15-7, making the Whip-Purs playoff eligible for the first time since 2015.
After winning only six games over the last five seasons, Brosman found a way to motivate the players to achieve what seemed impossible and advance to the playoffs. Brosman joined Hampshire as a football coach in the summer of 2018. Previously, he was a basketball/football coach and a math teacher at Dunlap Middle School.
Hampshire will play at Jacobs (4-3) on Friday.
