The U.S. women's volleyball team, which includes Bartlett's Kelsey Robinson and Aurora's Lauren Carlini, cruised through Wednesday's quarterfinal match against the Dominican Republic, posting a 25-11, 25-20, 25-19 victory.
The Americans will face Serbia on Friday for a chance to advance to the gold medal game. The match can be seen on USA Network at 11 p.m.
The U.S. women have yet to win a gold medal. They captured silver in 2008 and 2012, then bronze in 2016.
Two American starters -- Jordyn Poulter and Jordan Thompson -- were out with ankle injuries, although they could have played in an emergency.
